Jennings $ Sun Chief

I had a 5, 10, 25, and 50 cent Sun Chief machines and wanted to add a $ macine to them.
Some years ago, I bought a $ Sun Chief and later was told by someone that it falls in the "repro" category due to the numbers on the back of the bonnet.
I would appreciate any comments that you might give me regarding this.

The numbers on the back bonnet are:

16598-1912802

1403933-1562775

1923945-HH12739

I was told that the HH identifies it as a repro.

If it is a repro, why would someone clearly put numbers on the back that indicate this, unless it is meant to be identified as a repro?

Thanks.

Nick

Rick!
The HH does identify it as a reproduction casting as the late Han's Havilcek had some of the original casting molds from Jenning's and being honest he included his initials in the casting to identify them as his castings and not originals!
Possibly only the back bonnet is a reproduced casting as I believe all of Han's castings carried his initials!

Thanks!! That helps me a lot.

So, the rest of the machine might be original, I take it??? It does look original except the back bonnet is a little too shiny to be original.

I had dealt with Hans Havilcek when he was with us and he was a joy to talk to about Jennings machines. I never met Hans in person and always dealt with him over the phone. Hans specialized in Jennings Dollar and Half Dollar Sun Chief Slot machines. The quality of his machines is simply outstanding. Hans had some original dies and also used original parts or had them made to make the machines he sold. The machines were a reproduction technically but they were such quality machines that they are a joy to play and own. The machines were never represented as original machines to me and his Sun Chief back bonnets were perfect. Dave aka Montana Slots

Al Hibler, here in Northern California acquired most if not all of Hans' molds, parts, Etc. from Hans son Frank a short while back!
Last time I spoke to him he was trying to see if he could make good use of the molds!
Don't know if he has yet!
