Watling Rol a top 50cent

Postby buffalotraders79 » Fri Oct 17, 2014 9:15 pm

I am new to this forum so excuse my ignorance. I have always loved the old slots and always wanted one. Today at a garage sale there under the table was an old Watling roll a top. I brought it home and it is dirty a little dry but appears to be complete and does work although I have not put any coins init yet. I am looking for guidance on how to determine when it was made and where to get a few parts?

Congratulations on the find.

$.50 Rol-A-Tops are very desirable. Given that you found it at a garage sale I assume you got it a good price.

Hard to tell, but it looks like it has a funky handle.

Please post more photos including the mechanism.

Congratulations. If you could post a picture of the serial number stamped in the black wood on the front of the machine to the right of the coin return and also a picture of lower back of the machine that would help with the date of manufacture. Wow, nice find. Depending on what parts you are looking for there are many experts (not me) on this forum that could help. Larry and Fred at Cherry Restorations (oldslots.com) are one source. The guys on this forum have many many years of experience and have helped me numerous times.

No back panel. Not for sale but I am interested in current value and an estimate of cost to have it restored correctly?
