Jennings Club Console

Postby thepennyarcade » Thu Mar 19, 2015 2:44 pm

Wow, in my own back yard ( southern Ontario, Canada)
I was able to pick up this Club Console yesterday and can't wait to get at it.
Typical story, collector dies and wills his collection to a family member 15 years ago.
Then the will'ee" dies and his wife puts the collection up for sale just to get them out of the basement.
I was not fortunate enough to get the entire collection, but I was lucky enough to get two machines.
The Jennings Club Console has the holes for a side vender but alas no vender in site
Does anyone have a picture of a Club Console with a vender, I would really like to see what the vender looks like just in case one comes up on fleabay
I removed the two plastic liquor bottle stars from the coin entry area and other than that everything looks great (first look, we will see as I service the mech)
Best
John

John:
Nice find, and in all original condition, except for the stars. These do not turn up in this good of shape.
Especially if it had a vender at one time. I checked my digital photo files, for one showing a vender, but
did not come up with anything. Will also check my 35mm files.
It appears what you have, is a Jennings "Silver Chief" Club Console. The name should be on the sticker
inside the case. I thought at first, that it may be a "Dixie Bell", and the stars were hiding the holes where
the cast Bells were. But I see from your inside shot of the head, that there are no holes. I would not do
a thing to this machine, except a little cleaning, and whatever adjustments the mechanism may need.
Also, Old English furniture polish does wonders for hiding light scratches.

This is the side vendor you will be looking for.
This was the last style side vendor made by Jennings.
You will have to make an adjustment on the linkage, as, the cabinet is considerably thicker on your club console, than on a regular chief style cabinet.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
