Knife o matic

Postby LazarusLong » Sun Sep 13, 2015 5:26 pm

Hello everyone. I recently came across three vintage coin op machines. All are Knife o matic 10 cent machines. Any info about these would be great, including approximate value. I would like to sell at least 2 of them. Thanks!

I am not familiar with the "Knife-O-Matic", but if you post a pix, it might help, as there may
have been one in an auction, that I have details of in my files, and could give you an idea of
the value at that time.

Fun to see something different in the coin-op world, but I have no idea on value. I'm going to leave that up to better experts than me.

I am in michigan. One machine works, a dime got stuck in one, probably not a big deal, the other is untested. I can post better pictures later in the week.

What you are showing in your picture is not a machines, but a coin collection and timer unit used on coin operated kiddy rides, there is vertu ally no value to it, the box as a top coin entry, and inside is a coin reject or and a timing device.

Freddy, if you look at the pics closely, there are 2 knife slots on the sides. it is a coin-operated knife sharpener. Probably starts with the same box as the coin mech for the kiddie rides, but adds a motor and some rotating stones.

Am still looking through my archives, for info on your unit. I'm sure there was one of these at more than one
of the live auctions, but haven't had time to sort through all of them as yet. There is also separate files on a
computer at another location. I sure would like to find out more info on this machine, for my own knowledge
base. Even though this is not a machine that actually vends a product, it is still classified as a Vender, because
it does vend a service, in sharpening your knife. Are all three of your units identical, and I am assuming that
they plug into a 110v service?

This is a coin operated Knife sharpener mostly for the old pocket knifes.
