I am thinking you have no paper work for it from the ship???? That is about the only saving grace you will have if you sell it as a reproduction. I didn't see it shown with the machine so I figure it is a story and can only be taken as that. As a kid in the 60's and 70's everyone is school used to tell how their dad or family was in the Mafia. I always answered with Hmmmm I never seen him at my house and that usually shut them up. They new my family grew up with all the guys in Cleveland so they were friends as adults and spent many a days at our home. My Dad was not in the Mafia but was well protected by friends :) Yes I have pictures to prove it. Rick B

There is a casino in Blackhawk Colorado that has a totally bogus War Eagle on display and there is a sign that states it is from the 1930's.

Last January I was in Vegas for the Morphy auction. A bunch of us went downtown and there was a casino that had about 10 machines on display. They also had a couple totally fake machines.

This is not unusual at all. I have seen many totally fake machines on display in casino.

When I was examining the Harrahs collection a while back I found a couple of reproduction machines in it as well.

So, just because a casino owned it does not mean it is authentic. Casinos buy the cheapest props they can find.

Left a post for you before but it didn't make the post.
I am sure that there was no intentional hurt brought to you, all that the friends here try to do is to maintain the originality and watch for the instances of miss represented machines. I am sure that no one felt that is what you were doing. You obviously are not a collector so you are just trying to let go of a machine that was misrepresented to you without your knowledge. My best advive would be, keep your machine.You bought it because youliked it and wanted it. Since your not a collector, be happy with what you bought because it works and looks good to you. Let the disappointment part go. Since you dont collect, that should not be an important point. keep it and be happy with it, but if you have the desire to start collecting and really care about originality, then post it for what it is, find another, but most of all, look here for advice prior to buying a machine. You wont be disappointed by the advice you get.
Welcome ... you are in a great place

It is well known that everyone in Cleveland in the 50s and 60s was in the Mafia;
My father was a bootlegger under the cover of Carling Brewery on Quincy Avenue and
I was attending Chanel High School when Myer Lansky's body was found in the trunk of his car about a block from my house.

I'll bet it took you no more than one minute to hi-tail it home, after stuffing the trunk! [-o<
