Restored Nickel Vest Pocket 5c (Original Lock/Key)

Hello all!

Selling my restored nickel vest pocket. ( I need more space haha). The case is in pretty great shape overall, has a small paint chips on the top and some edges- see the close up pictures - was finished with a very pleasant silver and light blue paint job. Machine was restored when I purchased it at Chicagoland about 10 years back. Comes with original Mills lock and key (that lock/key alone ive seen sell for a hundred bucks). I believe the rubber feet and reel strips are repros. Original cashbox full of nickels is included.

Mechanically this machine has worked great for me and payed out accordingly very well over the years HOWEVER on the cradle that holds the coin push slot there is a shoulder bolt that screws into it and hold another component in place whilst it slides during operation. Either the threads in the metal of the cradle have (at one time or another) stripped out or the shoulder bolt was damaged. Nevertheless, as you can see, the previous owner did a makeshift job of holding it together by drilling out the shoulder bolt and holding t in place with a screw. Over the years of my owning and playing the machine, this screw no longer holds the shoulder bolt in place. When the machine is cycled, this bolt will routinely pop out and stop up the machine. I personally would look into welding and redrilling the hole or a different sized bolt thread and re-tapping the current hole. However, I will be leaving that to the new owners discretion. I have been able to cycle the machine without issue while i had a second person hold that particular shoulder bolt in place with their fingers ( to ensure it doesnt pop out).

I personally feel that this is a minor and very fixable issue, however I would like to make the issue very clear to the next owner that this is something to be concerned with. I would NOT cycle the machine unless it is secured (with finger or otherwise).

This machine would be a great addition to any collection, especially as a cheaper machine to get a younger audience into our hobby!

I am looking to sell for $480 (includes shipping and full insurance). I am located in the Buffalo NY area for local pick up. Thank you for looking! Please email: CRSWANT@GMAIL.COM with any questions ( i can respond to email much quicker than anything else )

There's an easy fix for that shoulder screw. I just fabricate a locking wire using a paper clip end that runs into the slot on the screw. I then make a loop in the other end and use that small screw that sits about an Inch or so toward the inside of the machine. If can remember when I get home, I'll post a photo of mine.
I realize this is an old thread but hope it helps. Maybe I'll just create a new post eventually.
