Caille Fortune ball gum vendor help

Going to start working on this machine and if there is anyone in my area that has one that I could look at and maybe take some pictures and measurements mine is missing a few parts of the top. Also can some tell my was the wood painted black or stained. For Bill the serial # is 3714

Caille used this type of finish on the gum balls trade stinulators and Naked Lady 3 reels and probably some others. It is called a silver fox finish. It is achieved by painting the bare wood black, then brushing a very thin white paint or tint in paint thinner over the black. Letting that dry slightly and then buffing with a cloth, the excess off. What is left is the white in the grain. Looks like you have a fair amount left on your cabinet to see the original finish.
