Jennings 50 cent Standard Chief

Postby dialsenden1 » Mon May 25, 2015 5:54 pm

I picked up my 3rd slot machine this weekend. Very excited and it had $30 in half dollars in the coin tube. It takes a coin and the handle pulls but rather hard and the reels don't spin. They seem to move just a little and that's it. The clock runs and payout fingers move. Any ideas. Don't want to force the handle and break anything.

Also is this a working jackpot?

Thanks for the help.

Most likely needs a good degreasing and fresh lube. Looks like it may not have a jackpot. Have to take the mech out to see.

Thanks for the reply. Here's a picture of the jackpot.

As for the reels not spinning, I don't think it's the lube. I could be wrong but it looks like when I cycle the machine the reels are prevented from spinning by this piece(the one held up by the springs) below the reels. Any ideas?

That is the reel kicker. It may be worn or broken and dragging on the reel disc.

Thanks for the help Oldslotman. Got it working correctly. It wasn't the reel kicker which was holding the reels. The sliding bar from the clock was holding the bottom of the reel stops. Instead of going on top of the bar they were stuck under the bar and so the reels wouldn't spin. Sorry if i didnt get the part names right as im a novice. Took me a while to figure it out and now it works and pays out great. Also figured out that Indian symbols on the reels work as "Wild" symbols hence the name "Wild Indian". So if you get one cherry or Indian on the first reel is pays 3 coins or a cherry then Indian on the second reel then it pays 5 coins. Three Indians works like the jackpot symbols and pays the jackpot.

Haven't figured out that jackpot quite yet but went ahead and removed the paper and loaded some coins. Door seems to move a little but doesn't drop the coins. Will try to figure it out next.

Thanks again for the help.
