Mills Melon Bell, Unusual Parts

Postby thepennyarcade » Tue Jun 09, 2015 5:05 am

Hi Forum
I am restoring a Mills melon Bell and have come across a few parts I haven't seen before.
When I purchased this machine it was painted in Black Light Paints with a black base.
Does anyone know what these parts are for and why they were discontinued?
Thanks
John

Do you have Operator's Companion/Mills of the Forties?

If yes, check page 104;
it shows part number E115 (for the Exposition Games Miracle Bell); "Timing lever Bracket Assembly."
It looks like it may be your "spring loaded" part.

Does your first mystery part look like the left top has been cut down?
If yes, it looks similar to (but not exactly) part number E130 (same book, same parts list) on page 106; "Timing Lever."
Which looks a lot like the lever immediately on the other side of your mystery part.

See flebay item 331580188102;
It is a Castle front that has the same mystery part as in your first photo.
