Many of my early printing jobs, were done in one of two processes. With the first jobs, I laid out several sets of strips, and cards, on a large sheet.
Once the printing was done, the sheets were sent to another shop to be clear-coated, (in satin, not glossy). After the coating, the sheets were sent
back to the printer, to be cut. Some of my later jobs were printed on a gloss-coated stock, more like the original factory printing was done. But like
mentioned above, not all factory printing processes were the same, and depending on the type of paper used at the time, they do not all react the
same, in the way of yellowing from age. Some factory printing jobs, were not all that great either. I have seen many original examples that were so
far out-of-register, that it made me wonder why they even installed them.
