PACE ALL STAR COMET 5¢

Postby damikeguy » Thu Apr 28, 2016 4:43 pm

I picked up a Pace Comet a little wile back. It looked to me like it had been painted silver over all of the surfaces that are typically just raw aluminum. Then I saw the picture of another Comet for sale last week on this forum and it was painted silver also. The paint job on mine is pretty sloppy so I just figured it was repainted some time in the past.
Did the PACE ALL STAR COMET come originally painted silver instead of raw aluminum?
Does someone have a picture they can post of an original unmolested machine?
Thanks again.

Here is one I am still kicking myself in the butt over. All original worked and played fine
And I dickered on price. Damnation I sometimes wish I had more $$ than brains again!!
I have additional photos if you need them or you can sell me the machine and avoid the
Aching back and tired eyes and noxious fumes.

Looking for survivor machines especially vendor fronts or original side vendors with or without
a machine. 1920's-30's goosenecks, round escalators. I enjoy hand painting the castings.
