the "plate" over the pay out area ,might be just that , a plate added . no cutting needed, just take the screws out. pull the casting off the wood to see.
it should still pay out as it was intended. instead of coins to the regular pay out area , into a tube that goes through the base & comes out much lower on it's original stand. bigger tin box type thing. intended to make more noise when the coin travel that longer distance & crash into this tin box. Everyone knows you won something.
