Just picked up this nice original pace bantam....my first pace. Question is when I play it the wheels.spin very briefly then quit. Ill lube the reel bundle then try to see if its better but there is a small bag of parts that came with and its unknown if its related. Here are some pictures.

Ive also noticed the brass cylinder on the rear handle side seems amiss. As you pull the handle it seems to separate. A spring, a metal washer and a rubber seal (?) stay at the top and the rest of the plunger extends down. I removed the brake wires to see if they were too tight and now the reels wont spin at all.

And.....,is it possible the parts that were in a bag belong to the jackpot? Ive pictured a close up of the jackpot where I think it may go. Sorry for the sideways pictures, thats how they post from my phone.

Thanks to the squires and corrie site he has a jackpot listed for sale and it appears as if my loose parts are for that. Ill need a new shoulder screw though (I'll be in touch Dave.) I still dont know about my reels. Am I correct in thinking the brass cylinder is for the escalator and not the reels? Ill have to study it a lot more. Does anybody know of any literature for the bantams? All I have found so far is for the Comets. Are the mechanism the same or similar enough? Anybody have a bantam that can attach some good mechanism and inside cabinet (jackpot) pictures? Thanks

Messed around with it some more and it seems the payout fingers are creating a drag to soon as if to stop the wheels completely. I cycled the machine while holding them all back and it spins freely. Ive attached pictures as it seems as if maybe Im missing something that may slow the payout fingers. There is a rod that is very loose, attached to a multi bent lever(?) that pushes the payout fingers back when you pull the handle. It all seems to loose. Any suggestions or pictures available?

It almost looks like you have parts from a older Mills mechanism in there. I'm not real familiar with the Pace , but something just don't look right compared the other pictures of a pace b.

I just pulled the back off my mills fok and I'll be damned, there are similarities. The bantam sure looks original and untouched though but some of the parts sure look to be similar.
