Wating rat reel strip

Postby Lol » Sun Jan 15, 2017 3:48 am

I am a newbie so I am not familiar with Watling RAT reel strips. The strips appear to be made of tin. I know that usually the edges of the reels are used to crimp the reel strips in place. However on my Watling reel strips the end of the reel also has a stud in the centre of the strip. I have attached two photos. Is it normal to have stud fasteners? Should I attempt to remove them? If I do then it is going to leave a small hole in the centre of the reel strip. Thanks, Lol

Hi Stephane
Thank you for the good advice. Glad to Know that the pins are original. The tin reel strips are in quite good condition. There appears to be no surface scratches and the colour is still vibrant. Just some light dust and surface dirt.
Thanks, Lol
