Couple more questions....
Was the back bonnet painted gloss black originally?
Was the wood sides painted black or were they stain.

Bonnet ,black usually flat (with a clear coat gives it a nice light semi gloss). wood side were painted. a bit hard to copy for just touching up. many blacks turn out a grayish color next to the original black.

Can anyone tell me the best book/manual to get for the 1946 Mills Black Cherry?
I would prefer one that show exploded diagrams and part numbers.
