Mills hightop missing pump...

Postby OneArmBandito » Sat Mar 11, 2017 7:55 am

After seeing many pics here I realize my machine has no pump. I take it this is a damping mech ?
Do I really need that ?

Thanks,
J

Indeed -- it's function is to keep the handle from 'snapping back' to it's upright position after a play. I would think that would be annoying, if nothing else. Kinda like hitting a pothole with bad shocks . . .

Thanks Nelson, I don't let go of the handle, so I never noticed it. Have to keep an eye out for one.

won't kill anything, just makes the action smother & quieter.... hence the silent goose necks of the early 1930's.
easy to find for sale & not much $$.
