Rock-ola World Series

Just picked up a new restoration project.
This thing needs a lot of work.
I may start with the playfield. Any suggestion on the best way to clean a playfield with this much dirt and grime?
Upon much closer inspection, I think it's doable but I want to make sure I don't mess with the graphics on the playfield.

Rick,

Congrats on the find. A very cool machine.

I like to use GoJo waterless hand cleaner on these playfields . It is great for removing tobacco residue and general grime without taking up paint or decals. Just don't leave it on too long before wiping off. Some guys complain that it it leaves a greasy film, but it you wipe it thoroughly with paper towels this is not a problem.

The late Hal O'Rourke specialized in repro springs, decals, paperwork, parts, etc for these Rock-Ola machines. Those things can now be found now at http://rockola.buckwerx.com

Good luck with your restoration,

Stan
