Payout discs do not line up properly

Postby Shane » Mon Jan 28, 2019 10:50 pm

The FedEx guy brought me my first project machine today. It is going to get a full restoration. The first issue is that it does not pay on winning combinations. The photo below shows why - the payout disc holes do not line up with the vertical fingers and the disc edges to not line up with the disc stop lever. My first thought was that the discs need to be adjusted on the shaft but it appears they are fixed and the adjustment needs to be made to the reels discs via the reel hub bolts and then adjusting the reels strips so they line up so the symbols line up with the payout bar.

Please confirm if my theory is correct or guide me to the proper fix.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate your comments.

By the way, the payout discs correspond to two cherries on the payout line.

Your wheel stops (ratchet gears) need to be timed to the payout discs. Then adjust your reel strips accordingly

Thanks for the reply, 5$ed. Are the wheel stops adjusted via the two bolts attached to each reel?

Yes, wheel stops have adjusting slots per two screws each. Each one can be adjusted approx 1 full stop either direction

Thanks, I will give it a try. The seller said it had been paying properly so I'm thinking it got jolted during shipment.

Best,

Update...

I started to adjust the wheel stops and discovered that the shaft of the reel bundle must have come loose during shipping and was not seated properly. Once tightened down the payout discs lined up and problem solved. : )
