General advice guidance

Postby Oldgoat01 » Fri Aug 02, 2019 6:41 pm

I've restored old arcade games, jukebox and various trade stimulators; however, I just acquired my first reel trade stimulator (Rockola Hold and Draw). The game mostly works (couple of the hold buttons aren't working properly). It appears that the previous owner has emptied about 3 cans of WD-40 on it. Literally dripping with it. My initial thought is to disassemble, clean and lubricate where appropriate.

Before I start down this path, I'm hoping to get some sage advice and guidance on process, things to do, avoid etc. For example, it looks like several of the springs should be replaced. Should I replace all springs? Any other parts that should be replaced? Is there a source for springs...(also needs new reel strips and a marquee)

Thanks

HI Replace the bad springs. Then clean and lube the moving parts. Not with wd40. Make sure you have no missing parts. Not much info. on your machine around. Good luck!
