Pace help

Postby Atlslot » Thu Dec 29, 2016 11:18 am

I am new to the forum and to collecting. I am looking at buying my first machine, but I would like to know more information about it. What is this machine actually called? How do I find out what year it is? What is the approximate value? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you mechanic.

Do you happen to know the year or how I would find it? The seller says it is either a 1947 or 1949. Do you know what an approximate value is?

Looks to me more like a Pace Deluxe Chrome with a funny trim paint job... you can compare with the 1946 Cherry Deluxe model on this thread:

You'll see that there's nary a difference besides the color scheme, i.e. plating versus paint.

You are right. This is not an "All Star Comet". This model is more commonly known by either "Deluxe
Chrome Comet", or just "Chrome Comet". Or, in the case of the painted cases, just "Deluxe Comet".
are we getting confused yet? #-o Most of these 1940's models, have the date stamped into the star
casting, on the left side of the case, i.e. 1946, 1947, 1948, etc. Not all machines are date stamped.

Thanks again for all of the help. It does seem like the deluxe chrome model. It has a 47 stamped on the side which (I think) means it is a 1947 model. There is also a worn sticker on it that is a licensing sticker from 1949.

I still can't find any information on an approximate value range. I'm guessing around $1200 - $1500, but that is simply a under-educated guess.
