The decals were used mainly on the models with wooden fronts, because of the war effort and shortage of metal the later one's with castings used the raised metal head.

I knew some one knew better. thanks again Freddy!
at $1,200.00 the Buckley seems over priced to start with , plus a bad restoration.....
nice to know your machine is a war made model, just adds a bit more history to it.

Thanks Freddy and Jeff! Yeah 1200 was way too much on the other one, I am new to slots but I do know antiques and values of most things especially if they are not in great condition.
I am undecided now on whether or not to put the cast Indian Head over the original decal now as 2 holes would have to be drilled to install it. I am hard headed when it comes to keeping things all original and not doing to much to something if anything at all if its not original to the piece or an original part on the cabinet. I would have less a problem putting one on it if it was an original Indian Head but I would guess those are difficult to come by. I am going to replace the 2 stars that were there when I get them and will post pics. I never plan to sell it so I guess it does not matter if the Indian Head is put on it.
While I am thinking about it, any recommendations on what type oil and grease should I use on the mech inside? I think mine could use some grease on a couple of things inside but have no idea what to get that is best for slots. Sorry for all the questions I just don't want to make a mistake and have lots to learn about these great machines. Thanks.

Put the Indian head on and painted the stars red and mounted those on. Before and after. I also used some dark olde english on the front wook panels that blended in the scuffs on the wood. What you guys think?

o.k. , I got my box of decals today.
The indian heads I have are 4 inch tall & 3 1/4 wide. a bit bigger than the one on it now. I'll go over them but, think all are the same size, 1 faces left & other faces right.
if you still want a set (just in case) send me a p.m.

I assume the "brass " head is bigger than the existing decal also ??

Thanks Jeff, I think I am just going to use the metal Indian Head. I bought ad nother one that came in yesterday and used it instead of the other shiny brass one I put on it. The one I got yesterday had a darker patina on it, see pics. The Indian Head decal was roughly the same size as the metal one so I removed it as some of it was still visible in places with the metal one on it. Now I have to get that grey paint off the base.
