Ainsworth is an Australian marque, as I think is indicated on their boilerplate imprint. From what I've seen, those Ainsworth mechanisms are gorgeous pieces of mechanical engineering and manufacture. I'm figuring Freddy Bailey and/or AndyDotP ought to be among the best informed on this forum with regard to what you have there...

More pictures--? :D

Aristocrat Starlite 1962.jpg
Hi, your machine was produced in 1962, in the U.K. it was called The Starlite, in Australia it was The Sheerline, some dealers in the U.S. brought these machines in and put Old Reno motifs on them. very good mechanism, All of the Aristocrat machines are the great work horses of the Industry, even today Aristocrat is the number one Casino machine in places like Macau, Lenny Ainsworth is still going strong at 93, he is one of the richest men in Australia, hope this information as helped you.

Hi.
After looking more closely at your pictures, I see that the award card shows different symbals to the regular fruit symbals, these models are known as Pokey Machines in Australia, they did produce your model for the U.K. with these Pokey symbals, but they were not successful, I also note that your machine as a Jackpot sticker with the British Pound Symbal, stating that the jackpot paid out 3 pounds.

thank -u very much
this gives me alot to go on
it was indeed a pence machine, and paid lbs
the reels are aces and jacks, the mech is indeed the millis style work horse we all know
the outside of the cabinet is wood ?
and some 1 changed the pull handle from a grip to a normal 1 arm bandit style, why i do not know
i will post pictures of the mech as i have it here with me for de-greasing and springs (if i can find them) ?
the coustmer also wants to take it back to pence, and so i will need to fiquire out what they did to the coin trough ?
