Here a pic. This was my fathers. The way I remember it, he bought it off a guy around 1972 who had several in his trunk. The guy said they came out of a pit where a lot of casino stuff was buried. My dad gave him $25. It worked fine until it got "jammed" with a coin around 15 years ago and it was relinquished to the basement for repair where it's sat until now. Now it's mine and I have no idea what it is exactly or how to go about fixing it. This thing looks incredibly complicated. In the back it has what looks like a spare set of front glasses, a spare set of "wheel wrappers", and a bag of 1936 Indian head nickels. I'd like to get it working again but with out some kind of schematic/blueprint its going to be a bear. I've got a whole new respect for my dad's "skills"! Thanks for any help here.

What you have is a Mills Bursting Cherry Brown Front. Just looking at the pic tells me you have an escalator problem as the coins are bunched up on the left side. Take the mech out and use a very thin screw driver and push eac coin to the right slightly untill they all look like the coins on the right. There may be extra coins in the escalator so you may need to keep pushing them till all coins have been moved into position. Some coins will pop out the bottom of the escalator as you move them to the right and thats ok.

Thanks all. "Mechanic" I did what you said and to my amazement it all sprung into place and it seems to be working fine again. I can't thank you enough. I ran about 20 nickels through it and everything seems ok. The wheels are a little off and slow but it did pay out properly at 2 cherries and 2 cherries and 1 lemon. This thing is amazing. I'm including some more pics and would certainly appreciate any help locating some kind of schematic or service manual or any kind of guide. I'm not going to touch anything of consequence right now but I would like to go through it eventually and clean and lubricate everything. My goal is to keep it original but in excellent working shape.
