That machine is actually called a Mills Chrome Front Circa 1939. Looks original to me

Do you have a picture with the backdoor off? Everything on the front and the paint are correct for that machine. If you look at the payout bib you will see that there are no bolts that hold it on. That is correct for that machine, the bolts are soldered to the back of the bib. I believe that is the only Mills machine that was like that. If the price is right, get it. Also the first Mills machine to have the 2/5 payout for cherries I believe. Should be very heavy cast iron.

Red Flag!!!!! Why would anyone restore the inside and not the outside? I have seen where others have dunked the mech in degreaser and cleaned the mech up a bit but thats a far cry from being restored. I'd want close up pics of the mech all around before buying.

To tell if it has been restored the mech should have no rust anywhere and there should be no discolorations. Bent springs are a sign that it is not restored but not necessarily depending on the size of the spring. Also is it missing parts? A restoration means back to all original, reconditioned means cleaned but parts may or may not be missing. Big issue is rust and discoloration of the parts on the mech.
