Looking at a 5 cent bursting Cherry for sale online. Seller asking $1000. Based on pictures (not the best quality) would be interested in anyone’s thoughts on its value. Advertised as “works great”.

Thanks

Shane

Radiorich,

I picked up a different Bursting Cherry. How do you paint the front casings to blend the background color, "burst" (center) color and the "rays"? I'm wondering if the rays are sprayed the "burst" color and then either the paint on the rays are sanded down to the metal color or painted over in a silver color. Also, withe silver color across the escalator bar and the coin trays - do you paint those silver or is that the natural metal color?

Thanks,

Shane

HI

First I bead blasted the casting then power polish all the high areas to a like chrome finish. Then masked the high areas and sprayed the orange and the brown Takes about 12 to 18 hours to do it. Hand paint any other colors.

Do you use Testors for the cherries and circles? Gloss or semi?

Thanks, Rich. Does the casting need to be primer or can it be sprayed right after bead blasted? I'm thinking of using Rust-oleum hammered canned spray paint for the castings.

Radiorich,

Do you power polish with a compound? This is all new to me - I see several different types/colors of compound. Which do you recommend? Here is a pic of the current state of the castings.

Thanks,

Shane
