I wish my machine could talk! I'd love to know if it was in Harveys.
I believe the sellers father bought this in Reno. Amazing the cost in 1988 was $1395 for this! And he had it shipped to Southern California as well.

Excellent stories from all of you "oldtimers". I am 70 myself and live in Wisconsin and can only imagine what interesting lives you people have lived. Very nice to be able to still learn of these experiences from all of you. Thank you again. I only have one slot...Mills Golden Falls $.25 and love it.

Mark!
It was, and still is typical, for all stores located in casinos to sell for "Top Dollar" as they are wanting to catch a high roller who just won some money, which for them is good business, to sell to!
Same thing with any store located in a casino, whether it be clothing, jewelry, Etc.
But then, to be honest, their rent or lease fee must be higher than heck as well!

A late update:
After getting the new key and putting the lock back on, I decided I didn't like the machine just having a drop down door in the back with a pie tin as the cash can. So I bought a repo cash can for a Watling (I think), modified the handle - well I removed it and soldered on another type - see third photo of the cash box "before". I added a crude wooden guide inside the stand and added a lock to the door. Now at least it looks more like a slot machine should to me!
I'll add one more shot of the back, once I find the photo.
