I've run across a Vest Pocket with the locking cash door and am close to buying it.
My impression is the locking cash doors seem to be on the early models;
this one is serial number 4744.

mrcoin;
what's the number on yours, or is it already packed up?

I have a VP and its serial# is #891 and it does not have this option. Which is what I feel that is might be ... but it could be operated added for the location it was in. Beyond me for this knowledge.

I did not say that all early models had locking payout doors.
I said that the ones that did have the locking flap seem to be early models.
(What's an early model? I don't know; how about less than number 5000.)

In fact the first VPs didn't have a payout cover flap at all.
Once the flap was added, the locking flap was an option from Mills on special orders.
(see Coin Slot Guide 13).

Thank you for the info. Now knowing it was an option by Mills, that makes them better in my eyes... cant be as many as without it. Cool bit of info for the future.
