aristocrat elite golden goose

Postby fjhoss » Wed Jan 28, 2015 6:16 pm

Hello all! i am new here and fairly new to slot machines, i have found in the trash... an old Aristocrat Elite machine called golden goose, i have fixed up a few things inside which needed doing to help the old girl spin and stop better. now i am looking to find any information on it that i can, i have found a manual for the Europa version but the insides and wiring diagrams are quite different. the electrics in the machine need a good going over to make it actually pay out coins (right now only the floro light tubes work and hopper spins when powered directly) does anyone have one of these machines? i would need a few pics of the control boards to make sure i can replace the resistors which have fried their coatings.....

cheers, FJHOSS

Once you hit the 'Post Reply', and your page opens, just scroll down to 'Upload Attachment',
click on that, and go to your files to retrieve your pix to attach. After you transfer them, you
will also click on 'Place Inline', to actually place them on the post.

thank you Slot Dynasty for your help with the pics, its to easy once you know how...

first pic of the machine- in pretty good shape for the trash heap, only a small bit of water damage on the MDF side boards and the chrome needs rechroming...

internals - not bad but didnt spin when found, a new spring and some grease get them rolling again

this is a picture of one of the boards with blown resistor in the foreground.

Although I am familiar with Ainsworth Industries, I am not with the "Golden Goose" model.
Nice looking machine, with excellent glass & reels. Looks like a 'keeper' to me. Too bad about
the tattered chrome. You may want to try cleaning it as best you can, with Brilliant Shine, if
you can find it in your area. I have been using it for years, and it would even take light pitting
out of car bumpers. The original company went out of business several years ago, and another
company continued making it, although it wasn't the same formula, but still worked well. The
cost of re-chroming all your parts, is going to be very costly in todays market, considering what
the machine might be worth, unless you have bottomless pockets, or own a plating shop.

It seems that you do know something about electromechanical machines, and circuit-boards, to
even tackle this project. I have dabbled with some of my own in the past, but don't have the
proper electronic testing devices to check everything out. There is a member of this Forum, that
is more into these than most of us. Perhaps he will chime-in, and try and help you with your needs.
That fried resistor is not the easiest thing to replace, if you can't read the color-code. Another
thing you have to be concerned about, is that many electronic machines built for the Foreign mkt.,
are wired for 220 volts. You will have to make all the necessary changes.
Good luck with your challenge. Bill

thanks Bill, luckily i am in Australia with 240v already in the lines. funny you mention the glass because only the other week the viewing window was smashed by a large chunk of wood in my shop.... better the glass than my fingers. luckily i have a photo to get a new sticker printed up. i am hoping someone on here will have one of these machines and will "simply" be able to photograph that circuit board and identify the piece... maybe someone out there knows what one of these machines is worth? restored and in current state.

i will look into the polish you suggested .

OUCH! You broke the glass? That's Sad. Well, at least you aimed at the center one,
and not the 'more artsy' top or bottom. Send out some feelers. Maybe someone will have
that glass over there. It is better to have an original, rather than have one made, that will
not look original, unless you know someone that does silk-screening.
I didn't realize you were in Australia. Also, if you do happen to find someone that can send
you circuit board pix, make sure it is also 240v, as the resistors, capacitors, etc., could be
different on a 110v version.

hello

im in england, i have exact same reel bundle on x50 cent i bought with a load of parts from the states

two or three years back, just the mech only but it came out of an old all mechanical casino machine.

cannot help on the electrical issues as find it hard enough just to get the lighttubes wotking on my all

mechanical machines.

have you tried these guys in australia, they may help you with your glass artwork needs etc

they may know someone who worked on these

http://www.kfe.com.au/ARTWORK/ARTWORK.htm

i habe an aristcrat machine that has a printed circuit board that controls a variable payout on the hopper

that i am just going to convert to mechanical to use the original artwork still on a mechanical payout

all the best

Here are a couple of pictures of that board. Are there any other boards for this machine that control the payout? And is there anyone on this forum that may have spare parts as i'm missing a couple of parts that control the coin mechanism.
