Evans Casino Bell Sr.

Does anyone have any information on Evans Casino Bell Sr. 3/5 cent and 2/25 cent slot? I found one for sale, and it looks like an interesting type of slot. Other than it was made in 1947 or 1948 and needs 3 nickels and 2 quarters to get the jackpot, I can't find any information on it.

Thanks!

Thank you! I'm looking for any information I can find. Repair-ability of the machine or circuit diagram, general info, known issues (if any), and estimated worth. I did find the advertisement for the machine after I posted, so any additional information would be nice. I'm interested in knowing what I would be buying, there doesn't seam to be a lot of information on this machine. It looks interesting, but I would like to know that I would be able to repair it if it ever breaks. Any additional information would help!

Thanks!

Hi Draco
i looked in the coin slot guide and there is no wiring diagram but there are some step by step service instructions.
It can be downloaded here-

http://www.coinslots.com/manuals/evans/

As for price, they are not a high dollar collectible machines, at the moment, but they are gaining more acceptance among slot collectors now, so who knows?
complexity and potential fire hazard of old cloth covered wire seem to be major factors in holding the price down.

I would say non worker with peeling/ cracked glass, no more than $250, non worker with good cabinet and glass $500 -$1000, restored or MINT working original $1000- $1500.

Please post a picture, would love to see it!

Draco;
actually this one here is the nicest one I have seen yet !! every once in awhile one pops up for sale & not in so good shape.
does it seem to play & pay as it should ??
the other problem for most on console units , is just the size they can take up. also that type of electronics, just a bunch of wires, ect. which no one understands.
I own an 1948 Evans bang tails, 1941 bally high hand ,& a 1946 keeney super bell, all look about the same inside.
very nice looking condition for sure.

Hi Draco
As Jeff said, a real nice example, you are fortunate to have stumbled upon this.
The glass looks MINT, that is half the value of the machine, right there.
it also looks like the insides have been restored, is it fully working?
Consoles prices are still quite low at the moment, may I enquire what price was paid for this fantastic machine?

Thanks Nigel

on some of these console machines, finding & buying just the glass can be more than the machine itself. unfortunately these are printer's ink ,screen printed on to the glass , costly to properly restore ,due to the ink. the glass expands & contrasts with the heat changes around it, but the ink does not. same as pin ball machine glass.
From time to time , you'll see consoles being parted out on e-ban , ect. just to make good money off the parts.
Any additional information on how it plays (any thing unique ) ??
I have the coin entry section ,minus the front plate. was cheap , seller no idea what it was for, ect. And I don't need it (yet).

So far everything works and is paying out correctly. I haven't gotten all of the possibilities yet to test them.
I'm not sure if it has been restored or not. The guy I got it from did not know anything about the machine, until I told him. He got if from someone else that needed money.

It plays like a normal slot nothing unique I have found. It takes one nickel or quarter or up to 3 nickels and two quarters, and it pays out on what ever you put in. You can see the coinmech working, which is cool. Sometimes its a little aggressive with the payout and coins will fall out onto the floor. Watching the machine work is interesting, and I'm not quite sure how it does what it does, yet.

I payed $400 and got $50 back in coins.

Wow , you just got it & won $50.00 of someone else's money ! yep , my Keeney goes nuts on the wins too. ,won 60 nickles once. my bang tails pays coins or a token. awhile back a guy put up for sale a bunch of the tokens & I bought them all. None came with the machine. haven't won anything on that machine. not won much on the high hand either.
I doubt it was restored , I think you would be able to notice something if it was.
keep us up dated.

$400.00 was a good deal.
I bought the 3 as a set , untouched for at least 10 years in storage. I paid $1,200.00 for the set & tossed in another $100.00 for him to deliver. he was local , & had all 3 advertised everywhere for sale but, would not ship.
