1924 jennings trade stimulator value

Postby MTB » Sat Nov 26, 2016 5:06 pm

Had a guy call and send a picture of a 1924 Jennings vendor. Trying to find a value. He wants $500 from me. He says it's complete except for the lower back door which is about 2 inches high- not working but it is because there's a spring off -no side vender. I thought even in parts it has to be worth more than that -but maybe not -it's not a slot machine and doesn't pay out coins

Looks like a deferred pay machine to me. Lower doors are made repro at $500 and all there WITH ORIGINAL UPPER BACK DOOR do the deal!! Especially if local and no delivery expense!! Don't snooze and lose.
Looking for survivor machines especially vendor fronts or original side vendors with or without
a machine. 1920's-30's goosenecks, round escalators. I enjoy hand painting the castings.

MTB:
First of all, welcome to our Forum.
What you are showing, is an early 'Plain-Jane' version, Jennings "Operator Bell", with 'Future-Pay' feature. This is definitely a payout slot machine,
and not a trade stimulator. Even though it is in slightly rough condition, needing cabinet repairs, it is well worth $500. On the other hand, if there
are many parts missing from the mechanism, such as the payout slides, etc. then it could be just a parts machine. If you can get pics of the mech.
with the front door off, and another shot from the back, we can give you more of an idea, as to what it is really worth.

Uh oh better look out I think you have the coin op disease setting on. I looked at your other posts and for a newbie you have one cool machine and now this Jennings available. You are off to a great start. You can't go wrong on the Jennings from what you said about it and what is in the photos. UPPER back original door worth $200-300 reel bundle $75+ handle hub $30 handle $30 UPPER casting $150 etc. etc. such a deal.

Bill, thanks for the info. You are correct regarding all. I did finally pick it up. it is all there except the lower back door....which I can't seem to find a picture of anywhere. Also someone mentioned it may be reproduced -or I could make one. The guy I bought it from got it from another guy that just had it in his garage for 30yrs in non working condition. I have worked on many Mills machines and not too many Jennings. Looked at it for a while and relized it was stuck in the fully engaged position. After some cleaning and lube-I manually pushed it down through and it reset. after a while I got it to where it payed out a couple times. Still studying the mech. Cabinet needs re-glueing. Over all I am a happy guy! Not a lot of info. available on it. I'll post some pics. Thanks again, Matt

You scored big time especially if all the deferred pays mechinism there congrats! I just drug an old Jennings home an hour ago and will post photos and story later today. The one you found is the way to get them, un molested not refinished and all gummed up! Now go find another one lol.
