Bally EMs

. . . anybody have any early Bally EMs in their collection? I have a chance to pick up a Quick Draw 25c machine next month from a local collector. It's in excellent shape and the price is right. I find the early Bally EMs intriguing and they can be collected for a fraction of the cost of the mechanical classics. Just chatting!

I have 13 of them as of Monday ... now I have 14.... it is a disease, I know it is... and I have no intentions of recovery at all.

I own a early 1964 . not currently working correctly.... any how , has the data plate removed but, all the inside sections are marked with the machine type code. did some research and it was made for & used by the Dunes casino in "Las Vegas". only reason I still have it.

And your correct , these still don't command any real money, as the vintage mechanical can.
as long as they are all fun to play = who cares. even the more modern Japanese token playing skill stop machines can be fun to own (remember , I didn't say that out load....). actually those Japanese machines should be phased out in a few years ,as Japan is allowing Real gambling in the country again.

I have a 5 coin 25 cent 809 machine in Arlington Hts Illinois. $400.00. pick up only. it's about 200+ lbs.

machine works great, the only feature i could not figure out how to fix was the hopper over-run switch.

other than that...it's fine.

It is Identical to this one...

I only have one a 742A made at the Bally subsidiary in Dublin Ireland. Still looking for a triple bar marquee for it. Does anyone have this marquee?

I guess one concern I have, as far as collecting Bally EMs goes, is the availability of parts -- like relays, solenoids, bulbs, etc. Are there ample sources for replacement parts? I suspect Bally no longer makes them . . .

every once in awhile someone with a bunch of non working ones for sale pops up. about 8 months ago , a guy posted having 35 ,plus more parts for sale but, was very far away to look them over ,ect.
A slot dealer in Phoenix , claims he can repair them & has parts. And I do recall a gut in N.J. claiming to have an over load of parts ,individually for sale.

I would assume any old school electrician would have a clue on the parts they're looking at & a clue where to buy.
