Payout problems

Postby briank » Fri Jan 27, 2017 1:11 pm

Still working on my original pace bantam and have licked excpet the payouts vary. It will payout correctly on cherries but then I hit triple orange and not on coin. This is a dime machine. I have not oiled the payout slides as I know not to but if the previous owner did, would that cause a payout problem?

Check for a coin jammed in the slide area and the springs should not be weak. I use an electrical degreaser to remove oils from the slides without having to take them out. It leaves no residue. I also use a non flammable one, little pricy but worth it when I work on pinball machines.

Sprayed with contact cleaner and emptied payout tube and slides. Sprayed the inside of slides with electrical cleaner, reassembled and played more. Actually hit the damn jackpot and it did not pay out a single dime nor drop the jackpot?????

make sure the safety slide is not blocking the payout. Are the payout slides sliding back?

Is the safety slide the L shaped piece held by a shoulder screw towards the rear ? Ill have to study it futher to see about the payout slides sliding back. I still have it set from when I hit the 3 bantams so Ill go look to see if theyre slid back.

the safety slide is the very bottom slide. It will be very thin.

If a winning combo is hit, especially the jackpot, shouldn't the corresponding levers move to the side to allow the payout slide to move further back. And in the case of the jackpot, shouldn't they all move to the side to allow them all to slide back? Maybe Im incorrect but in my pictures the levers are still behind the payout slides.

Yes. The vertical fingers should be pushing the horizontal fingers out of the way so that the slides can go all the way back, and allow the payout. I had the same issue, and with help from others on the forum, realized that the vertical fingers were my problem. Here is the thread http://www.coinopcollectorforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5362 Before you do that check out this great video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjKSoRKW0i0 (I think it is from one of the forum members.) Around 7:30 there is a section on how to test the slides, to see if the vertical fingers are the issue.

Keep plugging away, and you will get it figured out.
