One of the last places I would look for an antique slot would be a scrap yard in Brooklyn N.Y..However I found a nice Mils Hightop, someone turned in for scrap.I'm sure you guys have found them in some strange places also.

That's great, what did you have to pay for it ?
Surely not just scrap prices.
Working ?
I find some good junk set out by the dumpsters, but nothing that cool.

Best,

20 years ago I was happy to pay 600 for a working slot.Of course it needed a cash box, lock and a paint job but today it's a beautiful black and yellow 25 cent 777 hightop!

I believe in the 1960's ,early 1970's , that's where a lot of the old machines went ,from Nevada casinos. scrap yard. bring in a huge dumpster, toss them in , off they go. I know I have a few images of this from a casino in the 1970's , older Bally machines tossed in. photos taken from a guest in the hotel.

When I was a kid at school in North Wales some mates of mine broke in to an old outbuilding behind a pub. They dragged out an original Mills High Top and smashed it to smithereens looking for old pennies. Reckoned there were about forty machines in there. I bought one of the others for four British pounds which was a small fortune in the 1970's. I also noticed a Bryans Payramid in a girl friend's garage and asked her "how much"? "My dad says three quid". I got it for two fifty and a right good pash, ha, winner!
They don't sell for under Two Thousand British pounds these days.
