JUST WATCHED A GREAT ONE!
1946 " CRACK-UP".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038429/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Tons of early, rare machines!

Restaurant: national 313 brass cash register, wrigley's rotating counter-top gum dispenser.

train station: about half way through the movie, star PAT O'BRIEN is in an old upstate new york railroad station, and, there is a white porcelain watling senator ? big head scale, and... this amazed me... as he paces the floor, he several times passes by a pair of what appears to be either freeport vendors, or, national peanut vendors (see silent salesman volume 1, page 62, lower left corner. the pair of machines are shown a few times, but each time for only a couple seconds.

penny arcade: later in the film, a good deal of time is spent by o'brien, and co-star claire trevor in an old new york penny arcade. tons of machines are show, including cast iron & tin mutoscopes, rows of wood rail pinball machines, as well as counter top pinball machines, abt challenger gun games, a wrigley gum dispenser, rows of counter top peep show viewers & card vendors, a mutoscope or mills drop down punching bag (shows it being played), rows of esco / exhibit supply glass front counter top light-up grip & fortune machines, a "knotty peek" peep show, plot lots more!!

All in all, a great movie!

George Steele, art curator at a small museum, has an apparent mental breakdown one night, convinced he was in a train wreck...which never happened. In flashback, shortly after proposing to x-ray some old master paintings the museum has on loan, Steele is called on an unplanned nocturnal train trip. He suddenly sees another train ahead, speeding toward his... Is George indeed cracking up, or is there a plot to discredit him? The mystery grows murky with shadowy menace

Mr. Lucky was mentioned below. A very early scene shows 50 or more Mills Pointsetta slots on stands. Cary Grant plays one of them, at which point he tells his slot mechanic that the machine is broken since it paid out and he needs to "fix" it.

No slot machines, but "Tugboat Annie" shows Wallace Beery using a rare Worth & Martin Bull's Head perfume vendor. Another Wallace Beery film "Min & Bill" shows him again using a different wall-mounted perfume vendor twice (not sure what model),

The Prowler (1951):

Mills machines in the motel office, starting at about 59:00; the Van Heflin character plays a Bursting Cherry to divert his absent conscience for a moment. The plot is sort of like Double Indemnity or The Postman Always Rings Twice.

Hi Guy's,
When you talk about movies showing slot machines, probably the greatest of them all was the original "Oceans Eleven", not only was it made at a time when Las Vegas was mob dominated but when 90% of the slots installed in the casino's were Jennings.

But if you really want to watch a movie with slot machine connections, there is one with a very true story about Watlings Rol-A-Top's and Pace Comets, it is a French made movie called "Borsolino" staring Frances two leading stars Jean Paul Belmondo and Alon Delon. the scene is a 1920's French gangster dominated Marseile with the two gangsters Alon Delon and Jean Paul Belmondo taking over the rackets. In the movie you will see scenes that contain several Waling and Pace machines.

The kicker to this movie was how the film company obtained the props-slot machines. What I am about to tell you is a true story, in 1935 the Chicago mob bought machines from Watling and Pace with a 5 franc denomination and sent a shipment of slot machines by ship to the port of Marseiles in France, these slot machines were crated and marked as farm machinery, when the ship arrived in France, the customs inspected the crates and once it was seen that the crates contained slot machines, they would not allow the crates to clear customs, the crates were left on the ship and the ship set sail for Indo-China before returning to America, because at that time a war broke out in Indo-China and the Ship was forced to return to France, where the shipment of slot machines was confiscated by the French customs and those machines stayed in the customs warehouse for more than 25 years, around 1960 an add by the film company was answered and the machines were bought and used in the movie "Borsolino", an old friend of mine who was a coin machine dealer called Bernard DeWitt, purchased the entire stock of the Rol-A-Top's and Comets, he then offered them to various collectors and dealers, on condition that they bought two Comets to every one Rol-A-Top, doing this because the Watlings were prettier than the Pace models.
Many of the Watling Rol-A-Top's were still in their original crates and packed with greeseproof wrappings, my close friend Henri Krijnen a collector from Holland bought many of these machines, and over the years as offered them through Roy Harrington's Victorian Casino Antiques Auction House.

The French dealer Bernard Dewitt was a real Woody Allen character, crazy as a coot, his father was one of the most decorated resistance fights of World War II, Bernard's wife once told me of a restaurant that we were going to in Paris, had banned Bernard from the place and the only way we could get a reservation was if I made it.

That is a true story.

Great story!
Very interesting.
I have not seen Borsolino, but it sounds like a good one.
Oceans eleven is a great movie.
As a film collector, and, film historian, I will stand firm the the best slot machine movie is a rare film from
1941 titled "LAS VEGAS NIGHTS".
There are literally hundreds of slot machines, including a lot of uprights, and, it shows them being played.
For a slot machine collector, this is definitely the ultimate movie due to the amount of machines, and the rarity of those shown.
As a side note, it marks the film debut of Buddy Rich, and, Frank Sinatra, both appearing as members of Tommy Dorsey's band.
This film has never been commercially released on dvd or vhs.
I did manage to tape it off tcm several years ago, and, have since converted it to dvd..
I watch it every couple of months. It is that good!
There are a few others that surpass Ocean's Eleven as well.
Most of them have been discussed or mentioned above.
This is not to detract from Ocean's Eleven by any means, but, there are better slot machine movies than that one.

I bow to your superior knowledge of the movies, I liked the "Borsolino" movie because I knew the story behind the props.
