This is a Caille (Export model), "The Commercial", which operates on the English 1d coin.
Most people like to call them a 50c "Ben Hur", (which they ARE NOT), thinking they will sell for much more than they should.
There were made in more than one case style, and casting differences. There are also several different wheel designs.
A genuine original U.S. "Ben Hur", is in a much shorter case than these export models, and only came in 5c & 25c coinage.
Caille also made them for the French market as well, as they had a factory in France. Most of the french models were made
in the shorter Ben Hur style case, and used a franc, the size of a quarter.

Sam:
Two classic machines here. The Upright is a Mills "Dewey Jackpot", and the card machine
is a Caille "Royal Jumbo", with a missing marquee, which Stan & Ollie probably broke off
during one of their slapping matches. Those two 'klutzes' have destroyed more nice stuff
in their film careers, than most. Of coarse they weren't considered antiques & collectables
in those days, but were 'works-of-art'. I've seen them destroy numerous Ford Model 'T's in
the movies than anything. Oh well!
Cheers, Bill
