Jennings Little Duke 1 cent

Postby capt7310 » Thu Feb 07, 2019 5:55 am

Hi, reaching out to the experts. I'm looking at buying a 1932 penny little duke and I need some feedback before I do anything. I've heard there not a reliable machine because of the reel set up. The guy is at 1700 with the stand and again I've seen prices from $1000-2200 so don't know what a fair price would be. The machine has been painted to it's original colors and the photo's of the machine it looks all original. But this machine is out of my wheelhouse first time with this kind a reel bundle. I think the machine is very cool and have been looking for a penny machine for awhile. So before I pull the pin would like some thoughts. Thanks everyone!

Looks like it was painted non original colors as you will discover when you do a general Google search for Little Dukes. Rick Akers has a wonderful repair guide on ebay currently. Prices vary widely. Make sure it has an original back door and Jennings lock.

As was stated above, those are not the original colors, which does bring value down some!
Pictured below is the earlier single Front Jackpot model as there were different front castings with different Front Jackpot configurations!
The one here if you look closely has original wear with minor paint touch up of, what I believe to be the original color scheme!

here's a few more pics, I have a friend that has one and the colors are different except where the red is it's silver. The rest of the machine is original from the pics. Thanks for everyone's input.

That key on the keychain is not a Yale ODJxxx key. It's aftermarket, so if that's the back door key, it definitely is not original.

The other flat key looks correct for the coin inlet back door.
Slowly building a knowledge base on E2000 series Bally machines and J400 Jennings. Started with the antique Mills and Jennings. Getting there...

Here's a couple triple jackpots that I am restoring with colors matched as close as I could get to the original faded paint. And a single jp with original paint.
