DICK DELONG Article in GameRoom Magazine

Well being Sunday I found myself organizing all my past issues of Game Room Magazine and happened to run across the October 2006 issue which had a write-up on Dick Delong, one of the character carvers for slot machines and as it has been discussed here before, his work, I thought that possibly some of the "New Recruits" here would be interested in reading it!
It has a picture of the Indian figure he carved that I believe was recently discussed here on the Forum!
The article is attached here in a pdf format which should make reading it easier!
Dick is no longer with us but he had made many figures for my customers and his work lives on!
Enjoy!

Thank you for posting the article. I really did not know anything about Dick and his contributions. He was a very talented person. I now know a little more. Again, thanks for taking the time to post the article.

Your Most Welcome Scott!
I'm not sure if any of the articles from that publication are on the internet but knowing Dick and doing business with him when I ran across that particular article I just thought I would place it here for all to read!
So I scanned it in from my library of old literature!
Yes, like a lot of the older gentlemen in our hobby that have gone to that "Big Casino" in the sky, he as well as others was a very interesting man to speak with!
One of the "Founding Father's" of this hobby!
Like Dick Beauschel, Tom Krahl, Alan Sax, Frank Zymunt, Bill Whelan, too many to mention, he was definitely one of the Good Guys who is still missed!
Ciao!

even though i own popeye and olive oyl, with QT's in them, i knew very little about dick. i've seen him a couple dozen years at chicago, but never really talked much to him. i was only looking for older things. but now that i have these machines, i have become interested in the history. i very much enjoyed the article, and monti, you ARE a treasure! thank you for opening my eyes to the master carver.

You are very Welcome My Friend!
If you ever have the chance to pick up any of the older, now defunct for many years, Game Room Magazine Issues you should do so as during the early years of this hobby they were very informative and a Great Reference!
And Thank You for the Kind Words!
