Thank you for responding, I try to get the actual facts about what happened in our industry so many years ago, my late father operated many of these older machines in locations in England in the very early 1950's, I remember emptying a Base Bantom with a bag hooked up inside the front of the machine. You may not know this but it was the British company Firman Engineering who produced the most successful "Jackpot Front" , the reason being that machines like the early Mills with the small jackpot could not accommodate the old British penny, it being the size of a 50 cent coin. I remember in 1960 my father bought some Jennings Sun Chiefs of 50 cent play that came out of The Sands Casino in Las Vegas. The 50 cent machines was the easiest machines to convert to the old English penny, they would work on Pennies but pay one extra coin on any payouts of 10 or more because of the different thickness of the two coins.
