Wizard Clock - Before and After

Postby nvmos2 » Thu Mar 14, 2013 12:30 pm

ebay item 181097439847 is a Dixon Special clock before restoration with a BIN price of $600.

Seller states it "just needs winding spring ...." to work; yeah......right.
It is also missing more parts than the seller points out in description.

I've had 2 of these.
I'm no clock guy, but apparently just a little corrosion (which would not be visible in photos) can screw up a clock movement big time.
You'd need a complete tear-down/rebuild requiring hard to find parts.

ebay item 230942870028 is same model clock after restoration with 0 bids starting at $2000.

My recommendation;
if you want one of these clocks, go for the working one.
It will probably be cheaper in the long run and without all the hassle.
