I'm pretty sure this is mid 70's English 2p coin refurbishment

Tuppenny refers to two pennes but it's actually one x2p coin.

had one a few years back and that had a handfill tube jackpot

For higher denomination coins either 10p or 50p english coins

These were big coins so seller may confuse with half dollar coins

I forget how the handfill tube was activated but was very simple.

Also be very careful as it may be that the mounting brackets that

would normally attach the jackpot to the baseplate may have been

sawn off so making a jackpot reattachment a major job indeed!

Any one else like to contact them on it ??
Madmelons ,your correct, 2 pence coin ,part of the sticker still there trying to cover it up. this coin came out in 1971 , so indeed this was reworked at least once.

1) they wanted to get into a fight with me over the coin use. "who knows better me or you , I'm the one who plays it.... ".
2) but they did decide to re take photos of it, not many but enough
3) also amended the information just a small bit.
I have no problem with British used machines , & this coin is a bit easier to find & buy. BUT, some other person will buy it ,then find out later it's "British ". plus all the headaches on trying to return (for both of them).
any how.

Well, they fired off 2 more Additional e-mails off to me in the last 5 minutes....
1) stating they wished I never saw their listing......
)2 stating they would relist it with a much lower starting bid.
They did alter the information again.
little better this time.
If no one really bids on it ,maybe some one can get a good deal on it (regardless of coin use).

2p English coins along with some other english coins come in differing

Thicknesses so make sure your information is spot on before ordering!

The diameters will be same but thicknesses revised to keep costs less

When they changed metal contents, so stack of x18 coins will be lower

Or higher depending upon which x18 coins are actually at bottom of the

Stack.

Correct. both in 25.9 mm diameter. first in bronze ,thickness of 1.85 mm. then made in steel, thickness of 2.03 mm
A U.S. Quarter is a diameter of 24.26 mm & thickness of 1.75 mm.
I would assume the conversion to 2 pence was in 1971, conversion from another British coin. So bronze coins should be used. by the time the steel ones came out , these type of machines were already in the trash.
And the steel ones are still currently minted & used.
thank you for your insight on these machines.

I believe they listed it ,took it down ,relisted ,took it down & relisted again.
any how.... this time no bids , buy it now @ $1,500.00 , or best offer.
any one wish to point out that it IS a British export slot & make offers...... here's your chance.
all in all ,not a bad looking machine.
