I am very bummbed. I bid $170K on the poll and thought that was counted as our guess. That will teach me to not pay better attention. Should I have received a notification of each posted guess? Just curious.

If you checked "Notify me when a reply is posted" then you will be notifed every time a reply is posted to the particular discussion thread.
FYI, you can also check "Notify me whan a new topic is posted" on the page which lists all the topics. This will notify you when a new topic isposted, however, it will not notify you when replies to a given topic are made.
Although you didn't win the price guide, congratulations on being exactly on the money for your guess.
