Here's a nice Roulette Mickey from 1934. A lot of US collectors don't seem too interested in European machines. Too bad; there really are some very interesting ones and many are works of art that rival anything made here. Having lived in Europe for several years, I brought back some good examples of various coin op made there.
This one was found in a flea market in Belgium 25 years ago. The player would place his bet on one of three colors and if the machine stopped on that color, the machine would dispense a token. Yes; that's Mickey Mouse who determines the winning color.
In addition, the machine would dispense a gumball (or other round candy/prize) on each play. Sound familiar? Our resident French machine expert, JC, tells me the gumball dispenser may be a later modification rather than original and is an unusual feature that he had not seen before.
It's heavy, built like a tank to last.
