VERY interesting!
Perhaps under the brown paint you discovered a Mills variation;
or at least a Rock-ola revamp color scheme.
I've often been surprised how little some revamps changed the original machine;
perhaps in this case, all Rock-ola did was clean it up and paint it.
In either case, you discovered an original period color scheme and have added to the base of knowledge about the FOKs.

Nice job; it turned out beautiful.

I walked by this slot at least three times before I decided to take a closer look at it, it sure was ugly all painted brown, but after taking a close look at it all of the mech parts were all there. got it at a pretty good price, besides the rock-o-la decals the only other part of this slot that I have never seen on any other mill slot is a steel tab riveted to the under side of the bonnet, held in place by three rivets that appear to be machine pinned, since it was all painted brown as well I assumed it was installed by rock-o-la.
Has any one seen this tab on a mills bonnet before?
