It appears to me that you are going to need someone that knows about slots to have a look at it. Needless to say, there is a large amount of complexity to operate the reserve jackpot feature. If the reserve jackpot feature fails it can lead to total malfunction of the jackpot itself. Where are you located? Maybe there is a chance that someone on this forum that knows about the jackpot mech lives close to you. Slim chance but you never know.

Make things easy on yourself, buy a repair manual such as Marshall Feys' 'MILLS SLOT MACHINES THE COMPLETE SERVICE MANUAL' it is available on Amazon for about $30.00 and it is a simple, easy to read manual to service and repair your Mills slot machine. Or for a more in depth book 'MILLS OPERATING REPAIR MANUAL'from Mead Publishing is a book that will walk you through a complete tear down and rebuild of a Mills slot machine.

The Mills Slot machine restoration DVD set (http://www.IBuyOldSlots.com/dvd) explains in great detail how to take everything apart and put it back together and it also discusses how each part works.
