Mills Deuce Wild 4 machine set

Postby oldslotman » Sun Apr 17, 2016 1:57 pm

Added one more machine to the three that I had. Converted a 50 cent machine to a Deuce Wild. Don't ask me why, I just thought it would be neat to have. I guess there is four deuces in a deck.

Hey you finally found one !!!!
Now you need a Converted $1 version.............. should exist ,since they rolled out 1950 onward , ( & converted later in the 50's by the casinos , ect.).

Anything odd ball in it's 50 cent conversion ?? I mean in it's parts, actions, ect.

Nothing odd ball. Just had to modify the first reel disc for the wild deuce. It was a 50 cent machine to start with. There are a lot of the parts in the 50 cent machines that are different from the other machines. Even the wood cabinet wood base is about 3/8 inches bigger front to back.

Correct on different parts for half dollar machines. I'm working on a parts guide (of sorts ) , drawings of "all" the parts with the part (s) numbers that go with them. unfortunately , over the years their part numbers changed also ,for the exact same part (comparing 1941 part #s to 1951 part #s ).

this of course would be the pit fall of buying parts off e ban, seller has no clue what the parts came from ... 5 cent ,10 cent, 25 cent, 50 cent ; who cares , same part = NO !!!
So, you converted the machine ?
most of the work on my machines has been to unconvert casino disc changes ; Less wins or extra "mystery pay outs ". And replace removed parts (J.P. ,token chute holders ,ect.).
need a "proper" lighting system for my four-7 crown slot from 1958 still, which was removed long ago.

you planning on a $1 version ????

Uh-Uh-Uh! NO Converting! That's not sticking with originality. [-X Also, the serial will not fit in the correct time-zone.
Anyhow, nice looking set. Now that you have discovered there are 4 Deuces in a deck, (and I'll bet you cheated by looking
at the glass above), you will now have to go for a 'loaded deck', and add a penny, and a dollar machine, to round off the
grouping. The dollar should be easier to find than the penny. I don't remember ever seeing a penny version, but I do have
pix of a dollar machine.
Then after you complete the U.S. set, why stop there? Next, you can go for the English, French, and German versions! :D

I think this is the end of the road for this set. No penny, no dollar. Really the only changes were the first reel disc and the front badging and the paint. The machine needed to be redone anyway. Not really sure what the machine was to begin with. Just a standard 50 cent high top I guess. Anyway, now I have a super duper rare machine that I can ask a ton of money for if I ever decide to sell it. #-o
