It is not a pissing contest. It is you not showing one piece of proof and telling me I am wrong for questioning you. Taking an example off the net is more than you have shown me to be honest. Why are you having such a hard time understanding this.

You are telling me the Metal reel strips on my machine are not correct?

Has nothing to do with me knowing it all but has everything to do with you telling me I have to listen to all you say with no proof of anything but what you tell me. Again what is so hard to understand about that? Unless you actually think you are the God of machines and if you say so that is enough??

Take all of this anyway you like but your delivery is horrible and you leave allot to be desired in the teaching level. Rick B

Here is an example of a very nice unrestored late model Rol-A-Tor with the blue badge. The serial number is 65955. This serial number definitely puts it towards the end of the Rol-A-Tor models.

If you want to research serial numbers and see some photos go to http://www.CoinOpRegistry.com

The first entry in the registry for a Rol-A-Tor is 64,131

The last entry is 66,460.

There are some Rol-A-Tops with earlier serial number than 66,460 so it looks like Watling was making both of them towards the end of the line.

So, 66,460 - 64,131 tells me that AT LEAST 2,300 (or so) were made. Probably more because it is highly unlike the registry has the first and last Rol-A-Tor ever created.

No idea WHY Watling changed the badge design. Perhaps it was an attempt to just refresh the look. Just like car manufacturers will make minor change to a car line every year.

I am not an expert on Rol-A-Tops / Rol-A-Tors but I have owned a lot through out the years. At one time I had over 20 in my collection. Not bragging, just stating a fact.

Everything I have seen in 30+ years of collecting jives with what Watling Boy states.

Here are some of my machines and yes, I know the Bird of Paradise on the far left was never painted like that when it left the factory.

Very nice collection. I am also betting few of the TOR's made it to be a .25 cent machine. Possibly 100 maybe a bit more?? Thanks. Rick B

The vast majority of the Rol-A-Tors that I have seen are $.05. I have seen very few $.25 and even fewer $.01 models.

The early white Rol-A-Tor badge has a vertical screw pattern, like yours, the blue and white has a horizontal screw pattern and the brass only has a diagonal screw pattern. I have never seen an exception to this.

I missed this and thanks. I have seen 3 potitions for the screws with the one in between both you mention. Rick B
