Hello to all;
A few photos of my "1925" Jennings / Rock-Ola revamp. Not completely done but ,getting there.
since no lower back door ,I made one out of Oak (not stained yet). reel strips are original & will not replace. P.O. cards had to be replaced, no choice. had several layers of silver paint on it. sand blasted it all off the out side , then matte clear coat. didn't blast the inside , not needed. hand painted the little stuff.
front door is a reproduction also.
Mechanics need some tweaking . has the Jennings ser # ,& also the Rock-Ola ser # still on it. thanks for looking ! Jeff H.

I wonder how a piece of Buffed Aluminum Formica would look on that lower door.

Getting hard to find and I don't think anyone is making them anymore. I believe there are about 3 or 4 different sizes. Maybe some out there, you just have to find them.

Jeff maybe some silver duct tape over the oak would look good and be in budget? Lol kidding but when I get back I might see how much a piece of billet aluminum is and mill one or two lower doors just to see what they would look like. Don't know when that will be and the weather sucks here in Illinois. Wish I could be back in the desert.

I did talk to a few parts dealers = no lower doors, original or fake.
Plus all the hoopla over older reproductions that were made wrong (shrinkage) that still pop up on e-ban , ect. for sale. really don't want one that has big gaps at the top & sides.
Plus I had seen some photos of an "original " one made of Oak.

I had 2 just in reach to buy, then the sellers changed their minds. "need to keep ,just in case (I find a machine 50 years from now that needs it).
I do what I can......
And oldslotman is correct; the originals ,depending on the era of the machine do measure out differently. I made this one = "1925", smaller than the one I made at the same time for my 1936 Jennings.

o.k. lets see if I can get help on this one.
this machine is question; the coin tube was home made, old but , looked terrible. so recently bought a dime coin tube but, for a sun chief. of course it doesn't fit.
Any one want to share any photos of the correct coin tube ? not sure if originally was the Jennings still used , or modified since the machine has the J.P. added , or a new one altogether by Rock-Ola.

Really don't want to cut this original Jennings one up to make it fit, specially since the top part is just junk pot metal & a "hard to find part". So the plan is to just make another one as close as possible. just need some photos for the shape ,size, total length, ect.
I believe the top part was a bit lower than most would be & think it was held the mechanics by a bracket , not directly screwed into the frame ??

fear another machine I should not have bought.
