Nice! Did you do the plating yourself?

Yeah, they did a nice job. What does a plate job cost? I've always wondered.

It looks great. Can you post the contact information where you had it done. I have some chrome to do, but haven't found anyone to do it. Thanks

Been discovering the benefits of lacquer over enamel on this restoration. I love 5000 grit sandpaper.
I left the polished aluminum showing in the escalator window, bottom casting and top diamonds and left the raw aluminum on the bonnet and reel window. Haven't seen that before.
I had the bottom casting primed and black enameled but recoated too soon and messed it up so took it down to the metal and liked the b/w look.
I just buffed off the crud on the brass payout bib.
This was sitting in a garage in So. Cal. for 30 years. Most of the coins inside were from the '60s and '70s.
The mech works perfectly but I did clean and rebuild the escalator.

Wow ! Awesome machines !
It must be diamond front week !
Picked this cast iron 50 cent machine up about 3 weeks ago , spent 2 days polishing some sort of glazing off of it . Thought I was going to have to paint the castings but they just kept getting shinier ! Handle was painted blue , accented it to black . Black also went into the reel and escalator windows .
