Hi Guy's,
I have been out of action for the past several weeks, I had a nasty fall on the Ice, my bones are obviously not as strong as my mind, But being bedridden, I got the chance to carry on writing my new book, "The Lone American" although it is fiction it is based on a True story, that of Marty Bromley the founder of SEGA Enterprises Ltd. I had the privilege to have known Marty for nearly 50 years, Marty Bromley was without a doubt the most powerful man in the coin machine industry World Wide, he financed his old friend Sam Stern to buy Chicago Dynamic Industries, who then changed it to Stern, Marty after being involved in the largest tax evasion case in British history in 1980, he sold his stock in Stern for $14,000.000 so that Stern could go public, Sam and Gary Stern borrowed the money from Al Simon in New York, but before they could go public, the video game market collapsed, and Al Simon lost most of the money in the deal.

In 1957, (This is something you collectors out there should know) Marty Bromley's company Service Games (Nevada) Inc, was the official and exclusive Mills Bell-O-Matic Distributor for Nevada. So it is possible that many of the parts that you put in your Mills 1950's models were made in Japan by Service Games (Japan) Ltd, but made with the original tooling that Marty Bromley bought from Tony Mills or another member of the Mills family. Service Games (Nevada) Inc was run by an ex American Bomber pilot called Korwin Hailey, who is buried in the Southern Nevada U. S. Memorial cemetery.

Marty Bromley and his associates was behind "The Khaki Mafia" who ran the U. S. Military Officers Clubs and Mess Hall, although several of the U. S. Military personal either took the 5th during the U. S Senate Sub Committee Hearing on the Fraud and Corruption in those Clubs and Messes from Korea in 1950 to Vietnam in the 1960's, Marty's company Sarle Electronics, operated or sold all of the 16,000 slot machines that were installed on the U. S. Military bases World Wide.

I have made this fictional novel based on the life and times of my old friend, because it makes great reading that spanned nearly 70 years, Mart's empire spanned the World, he ran it from his two bedroomed penthouse in London, England , his penthouse overlooked the British Queen Elisabeth's garden, Marty could sit 400 people to dinner in his rooftop garden, that was tendered by the Kew Gardens, gardeners, who were also the Queens gardeners at Buckingham Palace.

When I first started to write this book just after he died in 2008, one of his daughters gave me her blessing and was happy that I was writing a novel and not Marty's autobiography, but now this book is getting so hot, she wants me to shelve it, this I cannot do. So watch out for the book, we are also hoping to make it into a movie, if it did become a movie, I truly believe it will be up there with some of the great James Bond movies along with Casino, Goodfellas or The American Gangster. This is without a doubt the best thing I have ever undertaken..

Gentlemen, for those of you who were hoping to meet up with me, as I was hoping to meet up with you at the Chicagoland show next weekend, I am afraid we will be disappointed, as my wife refuses to let me go because of my condition, but she did take me and several close friends out to dinner last night, on the occasion of my 73 rd birthday, I hope to be at the November Show and meet up with some of you then. I hope you all enjoy the show, my book "The Golden Age of Coin Operated Machines is available from The Crow Trading Company or from my wife who can be reached at my e-mail address.

God Bless you all.

Freddy ... sorry to hear of the fall. I did the same about 3 months ago and finally am starting to feel normal again. 3 fractured ribs and rotator cuff damage. If I know I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself. I also am interested in a signed book of yours. I have the utmost respect of the love and dedication you have for these machines, their history, and the artists creativity it takes to produce them.
