New to the forum and need help

Postby redleg105 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 6:52 am

I'm new to the forum and I hope someone can help me. I recently acquired an old COINAUDIT coin sorter counter and am looking to correspond with anyone
who has one and has any manuals and or parts. This is a large heavy machine ( about 100 pounds ) I would like to restore it to operating condition. Is there
anyone who can help me out? If not does anyone know of a forum that covers the care and restoration of these old machines. Thank you

redleg105!
Welcome to the Forum!
Be curious to see a picture of that puppy as I don't remember the name of the ones we used to use in the coin count room in the casinos in the 60's!
Post some pictures for us to look at!
Also whereabouts are you located?
Someone close to you may know something about those old coin count and sort machines!

Hi Monty:

Check this youtube video. It is the same as mine although a lot nicer looking.

Yes, that looks like the coin count separator machines that were in the coin count room of the Sahara at Stateline Nevada in Tahoe in the 60's!
Only went in there once a week multiple times while doing the "Drop" which was the process of pulling all the coin buckets from under each slot machine in the lower cabinet and replacing with empties which occurred on Wednesday nights, the graveyard shift!
The casino manager would drop in a piece of paper with the slot machine number in the bucket removed and when our cart was full we would wheel it back to the coin count room which was behind the cashiers cage!
They would keep track of what each slot machine brought in and if the bucket was low the machine would be pulled to go up to the slot shop to be checked out for possible issues as it may be paying out to much!
I'm glad I didn't work full time in the coin count room as there were rows of those coin count and sort machines going full speed and they were noisier than heck even with ear plugs in!
Good Luck on getting yours fixed, it looks pretty straightforward!
